“In the military, animals are always higher rank than their handlers,” says Kenny C., bunny buddy and Nationwide pet insurance member. “So, at the time when we got our rabbit, we knew she had to be at least a Staff Sergeant (SSG). But then, my wife got a promotion—so we had to field promote Booplesnoot to Sergeant Major (SGM).”
He adds, “The name itself comes from how she loves to boop you with her snoot to get your attention.”
Like any good NCO, SGM Booplesnoot stays cool under pressure. “She’s a 13-pound Flemish giant that acts more like a dog than a rabbit. We jokingly say she is our bombproof bunny, because she doesn't scare easily. She has had 80-plus-pound German shepherds barking at her and she wants to go play with them. She is the best bunny in the world.”
However, bravery can only take a bunny so far. To prepare for the unexpected, Kenny got Nationwide pet insurance. “We wanted to give her the best protection just in case something happened to her,” he says.
