“My girlfriend is a fan of ‘American Dad,’” says cat dad and Nationwide pet insurance member Nick R. “There’s a very niche character present in season 13—he’s only mentioned by name and never appears on screen.” Later, when a small orange kitten was discovered falling out of an engine bay, the couple knew they'd found the "embodiment of Goofus McDoof Business Horse."
Goofus is a tiny horse of a kitten who likes to prance on his dad’s head. “He’s a nocturnal gargoyle that stands with all four paws on my head while I sleep,” Nick says. However, this professional pony is also a total baby: “Due to illness as a kitten, he got used to being shoulder carried and pat on the back like an infant to help with respiratory issues—so, he now requires that multiple times a day.”
With Goofus McDoof’s history of health concerns, Nick wanted protection for anything new that came up. He says, “Nationwide pet insurance was offered through work and upon reading reviews, it was an amazing option and very trustworthy!”
