Looking for the right recipe for their new wacky pet, cat mom and Nationwide pet insurance member Yan L. and her boyfriend took inspiration from a rat—specifically the furry little chef from an animated classic. The result? A Michelin-star quality pet name that’s also a little wacky. “I love the movie ‘Ratatouille,’” she says “My cat is grey tabby, which is a little like the rat in the movie. And he is a cat so voila, Catatouille.”
Not satisfied with one deliciously wacky pet name in her family prix fixe, Catatouille—who they also call Roux, inspired by the sauce-making staple—has a sister who is named “Shrimp.” Yan continues, “Together they are shrimp etouffee!”
Finding the right ingredient to protect her new kitty came straight out of the family cookbook. Like Remy in Ratatouille, Nationwide pet insurance was already working behind the scenes for Yan. “I have my rabbit’s insurance here, too,” Yan says. “It is great!”
