A wacky name, like a kitten, sometimes appears out of nowhere—but quickly becomes a perfect fit. For one little kitty, an act of encouragement and reference to a childhood classic turned into a unique name that purr-fectly suited its recipient. Meet Brave Little Toaster.
“We rescued him from inside a car engine,” says cat mom and Nationwide pet insurance member Carly M. “He was small and so scared, we just kept trying to encourage him to be brave and kept telling him he was ‘such a brave little toaster.’ And it stuck. We call him B.L.T. for short!”
Since then, Brave Little Toaster took his bravery lessons to heart, going on adventures (if only to curl up and snooze when he arrives). “He loves to climb into one of our potted plants and have what we call a ‘dirt nap,’” says Carly.
When it came to protecting her new kitten, Carly appliance-d lessons from her previous pet parenting and chose Nationwide pet insurance. “We have it for our three other cats and haven’t had any issues.”
