The origin of the Russian blue is the stuff of legends. There is little to no evidence of where this breed got its start, though must experts believe it originated in Archangel Isles in Northern Russia, according to the The Cat Fanciers’ Association. Rumor has it that this breed is a descendant of the royal cat of Russian Czars.
