CFA Announces Most Popular Cat Breeds

The Cat Fanciers' Association, the world's largest registry of pedigree cats, has announced which cat breeds were most popular in 2016. Of the 42 cat breeds currently recognized by the CFA, these are the top 10 feline companions that Americans preferred to take home in the past year.

Nationwide pet insurance has compiled the most common health conditions and most common names for each breed based on policyholder data.

Nationwide encourages pet owners to adopt cats of all types from shelters and rescue organizations.
